Crew Rates - AD & Continuity

The Technicians' Guild hasn't traditionally listed crew rates as they are typically negotiated between the individual crew member and the producer. However, we have been concerned at the wide range of rates paid to television drama and feature film crew, not so much based on the type of production or individual’s experience, but on the individual producer’s preference. The rate structure is further confused by producers not calculating rates on industry standard rate 10-hour day protocols and by offering contracts at less than Blue Book standards without any real negotiations with the crew.

Assistant Directors have surveyed the rates paid in their craft in early 2008, and produced the following guide. The rates are for those who are suitably experienced in the specific level of their craft at the relevant genres of production.

Other craft groups are welcome to conduct their own rates surveys.
