The 2009/2010 Review of the SCOP (Code of Practice for Safety & Health in the New Zealand Film and Video Production Industry) is underway.
An Occupational Health & Safety consultant has completed an initial review of the SCOP, providing guidance on the direction required to bring the SCOP into line with current OSH practices and New Zealand legislation as well as suggestions about ensuring the SCOP is accessible and relevant to those who use it.
A second independant H&S consultant - with extensive practical experience particularly in offshore marine safety - is expected to be approved by the NZFVTG Executive Board shortly, to ensure the consultant team has a wide range of expertise .
Preliminary timeline, budget and process for the review are being drawn up for approval by the board. A call for expressions of interest will go out late 2009/early 2010; contact lists will be drawn up from the EoI and comment regarding specific sections will be sought as each comes up for review.
Specialist parties wishing to volunteer contribututions toward the review should forward submissions outlining area(s) of expertise, availability and experience with similar H&S publications/documentation to:
